you know all the words to the cheetah girls soundtrack and robin williams freaks you out. you like to dress up your dog in outfits and your car is an advertisement for anarchy and landfills. you have the style and soul of an 80 year old and you used to (still) eat play-doh when you were a kid. you like any and all things mexican food and the bk breakfast menu. you turned “ice cream paint job” into “preschool rim job” and have been steadily ruining songs for me ever since. you think marb reds are gross and hate claymation just as much as i do. you take your coffee black but you love mountain dew and vanilla coke. you once were too embarrassed to sing the siamese cat song in front of me but now you booty clap for me and leave me kissy pictures on my photobooth. you think beyonce and jay-z rule the world and have a fondness for bill cosby and everything he represents. you grew up with the dixie chicks and abba albums just like i did and wear shirts with american flags on them at least once a week. you read lots of books and are one of the smartest people i’ve ever met but the character you most identify with is bobby hill. somehow our friendship has gone from weirdly similar lives, to a couple who’s been married for 40 years, to whatever we are now. sometimes i mother you, but i don’t think you mind. you’re the first and only person who’s ever called me out on my bullshit, even when i didn’t even know i was lying to myself. you’re my spouse/sister/annoying pest/soulmate/love of my life and you are becoming the person i always knew you’d be. someone who stands for who you are and what you believe in and someone i’d want my kids looking up to as a role model. we’re kt&t always. no questions. and i love you to the ends of this earth.
